The print is 1961
What flower is that? Ochid? Hibiscus? A floral that keeps you guessing. How far can you abstract a floral before it falls apart? If you use a classic vintage silkscreen size (29” repeat) with a very loose illustration will the print hold together? What actually creates a resonant print?
The film “Blue Hawaii” came out in 1961. It was a golden era for Aloha shirts. 1961 was developed from those vintage prints. Ours is an illustration of an illustration. A cousin twice removed.

The Long Dress
This well balanced, modest a-line dress is an almost perfect distillation of the Mu’u mu’u spirit - fun, comfortable, simple. Easy to throw on, but never looks sloppy, with an elegant bateau neckline. The full length, unbroken expanse allows our prints to shine.
This item is printed in Italy on 100% BCI cotton. The Better Cotton Initative is a non-profit governance group that promotes better standards in cotton farming and practices across 22 countries.
We cut and sew each one on a made to order basis in our barn studio in Upstate NY.
