Digging Through the Crates, Summer Studio Notes

I am in the midst of archiving of all our prints. Just one giant binder off all the goodness in alphabetical order. It beats hoarding yardage. And squirreling things away in a box. And never being able to find anything. I literally pulled out a print yesterday that I forgot I made.

What I procrastinated on for over a decade turned into an opportunity to deeply reflect on what this project is, what has been accomplished, and how to expand. It's great to see all the work, all at once, for once. And to preserve it with solid archival materials and a sense of visual humor.

As part of this effort we are clearing out all our unneeded fabric and have these amazing large quilter's boxes which contain some old saved prints and more cutting from this summer's work. They are special. They will sell out. They always do. There will also be some remnants coming up on our new fabric section...stayed tuned.

Of course every time you order a dress we are happy to clear this project off the table. We are going to take some much needed time off this fall to reconfigure the business so if you have been putting off a purchase, now is the time my friends.

I also want to thank you for your patience this summer as we work through some sewing help shortages. We know our timelines have extended a bit. It has been frustrating but really everyone has been so acommodating it just makes the whole team appreciate you guys more. And if you crave immediate satisfaction, most kaftans are in stock.
