About Us

hello/aloha

Language of the Birds is a print driven brand founded in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Our current studio is a barn in Upstate New York. Sustainability and aloha are the heart of our manufacturing approach. We design all our prints and provide radical transparency in our production.

We use a limited batch production model. We make most of our apparel in our studio or work with small US factories. For some items we work with non US based manufacturers. Manufacture origin is described on each product page.

Our prints are in collection at the RISD Museum. See our Press Book

“Think eye-catching prints in an East Coast style with loose and open cuts ideal for the tropics.”

—Honolulu Magazine

"More modern aloha."

—Honolulu Magazine

"Blends bold patterns, abundant colors and intentional graphics while keeping history at its core."

—HI Luxury
